Bone Broth Recipe

BONE BROTH – AGE OLD MEDICINE

Growing up I certainly took the bone broth my mom made for granted. Growing up in a hot country, I didn’t feel the need and hence didn’t appreciate the high nutritional value of this simple broth!

But once my son started showing significant GI issues, I was forced to look into ways food can be healing for him. And there is no doubt, most of us are blessed with picky eaters, but behind every picky eater is a creative mom ! If your child isn’t a soup drinker you can use this as a base for lentils, curries and rice dishes too.

If your child is struggling with Gut Issues such as bloating, distention, discomfort, cramping, constipation or diarrhea, or leaky gut then having bone broth will bring relief and healing and likely a happier child. Recipe below:

Ingredients:

  • 2-3 Soup Bones (of your choice, but I prefer marrow bones)
  • 1 tsp of peppercorns (10-15)
  • 1/2 tsp of cloves
  • 1/2 tsp of cardamom
  • 1 stick of Cinnamon
  • 3-5 Bay Leaves
  • Optional: Cumin Seeds (1 tsp)
  • 1 Whole Onion
  • 1 Whole Clove (as in the full floret)

As much ginger as possible ! Ginger is the instant gut soother
